O.K., so I had planned on doing a little opening blog telling people what I was trying to accomplish with this blog…but…I just had a pretty good call that I thought was worth writing about. I am still going to do the intro thing ;but I’ll just do it a bit later. This morning’s first call was pretty short and sweet…
“Thank you for calling <cab company>.”
“Yeah, how much is it gonna cost for me to go from here to where I’m going?”
“Uh…where is ‘here’?”
“My house.”
*slap myself in the face*
“What, exactly, is the address to your house, Sir?”
“Oh, you need that?”
“It would be helpful, yes.”
“I live at <address deleted>. So, How much is it going to be?”
“Sir, I still need to know where you’re going to be able to give you a price for your trip.”
“Man…you sure ask a lot of questions.”
“I’m sorry sir, there are certain things I need to know to be able to answer the initial question you asked of me.”
“Whatever” *he hangs up*
And he never did get his estimate on how much it was going to cost him to go…”From here to there”…
